Venice-Italy, 6 June 2020
SUBJECT: Important decisions
Dear Member, following the serious problems that have occurred in all countries of the world, due to the health pandemic of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the International Board of IKU
- after waiting until today for the evolution of the health situation in all countries,
- following the rules and laws issued by the various Governments,
- noted the great difficulties for travel between the various countries and the serious economic repercussions still in progress,
- having noted that almost all the major sports events in the world (Olympics, European football championships, Continental championships of many sports, ect…) have been postponed to
2021,
DECIDES THAT
- all four IKU Continental Championships (PanAmerican, PanAfrican, Asian and European) scheduled for 2020 are moved to 2021;
- the IKU World Championship, scheduled for Venice/Italy in October 2021, will be held, in same Region, in October 2022;
- the membership fee of the Federations belonging to IKU for the year 2020, must not be paid and those relating to 2021 will be paid in the year 2021, if any federation has already paid the IKU affiliation for 2020, it will be counted for the year 2021.
Hoping to have done you something of pleasant, I remain at your disposal for all the clarifications you want.
Kind regards,
IKU General Secretary
Dr. Riccardo Mosco
