The international “missions” of Dr. Stefano Pucci, invited this time in Peru in his position as the President of the IKU Technical Commission, continue unabated.
The FIK Vice President (with responsibility for international activities) was a guest, from 6th to 16th August, of the Peruvian Karate Federation, IKU member, on the occasion of the KOBUKAN Cup of Tacna (heroic city on the border with Chile), one of the most important competitions throughout South America.
Teams from Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Panama and from all over Peru took part in the event.
The Italian technician has carried out an update course for referees, has arbitrated almost all the finals of the tournament (not having athletes competing) and, above all, has carried out on behalf of the IKU, an important diplomatic action of “recruitment” of new federations that have joined the IKU.
“I met new friends – declares Pucci – and strengthened old friendships and I explained, to the presidents of Paraguay, Panama and Uruguay, the aims of the IKU obtaining a great interest, so that some delegations of these countries, will participate in the next world championships in Fortaleza in October.”
“The organization and hospitality of my great friend Lucho Huaman – Stefano Pucci says – were really excellent, but I would also like to thank my friends Tommaso Orue Maldonado (Paraguay), Don Victor (Peru) and Luis Astorga from Chile with whom we have lived some really beautiful days. ”
During the opening ceremony, on Saturday 10th August, Dr. Stefano Pucci presented the IKU graduation certificates to 4 technicians: the 8th dan black belt to the President of the Chilean Federation M° Luis Astorga and the 5th dan black belt to the Peruvian Masters Lucho Huaman, Daniel Valle and Hamilton Huaman .
“I wish to express – the IKU Commission President concludes – a special thanks to Master Daniel Valle, my kind host in the days I spent in Lima, who showed me a fraternal friendship that goes far beyond the sporting relationship.”
